Thanks Robert, it's great to have you weigh in!

I'm thinking that for now, I'd be happy to see the existing code updated to
work with modern distros and their php versions.

But if you want to do big picture stuff and try out something new, I'll be
glad to help out and test.

Back in the day, perl was the duct tape of the internet, and I loved it.
But it seems that python has now surpassed it and has far more momentum at
this point. (have you seen orangeassassin, the python-based drop in
replacement for spamassassin?)

Do we want to stay with php for the web functionality, or do we want to
look at python or js?

Just throwing stuff out there.
