Thanks. A long time ago, the clamav-update package included /etc/cron.d/clamav-update which would automatically call freshclam. So when you installed clamav-update package (like you do), it would auto-run the updates. Anyways, I figured I would just help the next guy along, so they don't go 2 days or more without updates. I would never had known it was not running had I not looked at the logwatch report! -derek On Tue, February 2, 2021 12:50 pm, jjs - mainphrame wrote: > Thanks for the feedback Derek - > > The script does run freshclam to populate/update the definitions before > starting clamd, but the thought was that the admin would determine how > they > prefer to do their updates, either running freshclam from a cron job, or > running the freshclam service. > > The installer has been updated to enable the freshclam service, but the > rest will be up to the admin. > > Jake > > On Tue, Feb 2, 2021 at 6:24 AM Derek Atkins <[email protected]> wrote: > >> HI, >> >> I recently installed Maia on Fedora-32 and today I noticed that >> clamav-freshclam wasn't started.
