Brian, I think the mysql tables get populated from the file system files using the load-sa-rules.pl script. So, if you can find that script, you can look into to see what paths will be searched for spamassassin rule files and overrides. So, if you are editing your user_prefs file, and it is located in a path that load-sa-rules.pl reads, you should be able to just run that script to have it update your rule overrides. Hi Larry, On my system I have: /var/amavisd/.spamassassin and /var/amavisd/maia/.spamassassin Neither of those directories contain a “user_prefs” file; just some Bayes stuff. Ooh! But in searching my file system I discovered that there are tables in my mysql database full of maia settings, including SpamAssassin rules. So I changed a row that was in there for RCVD_IN_DNSWL_HI. Now to wait and see if it makes a difference. On that note, clearly I’ve done something to make Maia look to mysql for its configuration. I suppose it’s up to me to create a web front-end for any settings not accessible from Maia’s own front-end? Thanks for the tips! -Brian > On Jan 18, 2022, at 3:22 PM, Lawrence Mulder <[email protected]> wrote: > > Brian, > > On most of my systems that I have installed, maia uses the directory /var/amavis or /var/amavisd and in that directory there is a .spamassassin folder with a user_prefs file that maia uses. So, I think there definitely is a different file than the default spamassassin ones, but it all depends on how the system was configured. > > Thanks, > -Larry > > -----Original Message----- > From: Maia-users <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Brian > Sent: Tuesday, January 18, 2022 2:11 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [Maia-users] SpamAssassin score rules? > > Hi, > > Question: Does maia feed SpamAssassin its rules from some other place > that would override settings in /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf? > > The story: > > I've recently learned that DNSWL intentionally returns false-positives > as an abuse-mitigating technique.
