Hi Brian, You did the right thing by putting your rule override in /etc/spamassassin/local.cf—that’s what it’s there for, to provide local overrides. You can then run the load-sa-rules.pl script to update the score for that rule in Maia’s database, but that has no effect on SpamAssassin’s handling of things, it just gives Maia something to display. To make SpamAssassin see your new rule score override, you just need to reload (or restart) maiad (which incorporates SpamAssassin). Until you reload (or restart) maiad, it won’t see your changes to local.cf. So, if you can find that script, you can look into to see what paths will be searched for spamassassin rule files and overrides. So, if you are editing your user_prefs file, and it is located in a path that load-sa-rules.pl reads, you should be able to just run that script to have it update your rule overrides. > > Thanks, > -Larry > > -----Original Message----- > From: bh <[email protected]> > Sent: Tuesday, January 18, 2022 2:54 PM > To: Lawrence Mulder <lmulder-iL7gtBVyNKCGUxFv0Br65wC/[email protected]> > Cc: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [Maia-users] SpamAssassin score rules? > > Hi Larry, > > On my system I have: > /var/amavisd/.spamassassin > and > /var/amavisd/maia/.spamassassin > > Neither of those directories contain a “user_prefs” file; just some Bayes stuff. > > Ooh! But in searching my file system I discovered that there are tables in my mysql database full of maia settings, including SpamAssassin rules. So I changed a row that was in there for RCVD_IN_DNSWL_HI. Now to wait and see if it makes a difference. > > On that note, clearly I’ve done something to make Maia look to mysql for its configuration.
