I just spent some hours installing mailscanner and mailwatch.

The web interface is running fine on php 8.4, so there is some hope for 
mail there too. I think a big problem with maia is all the 3rd party 
pear modules. But it's worth looking into. I'd dive in, except that I've 
got so many commitments now that it's impractical.
