Just for future reference, what would the 'discarded' field's value be if 'true' isn't the correct one? I'm also curious about what the date format should be for the 'receivedDate' field. The lucene documentation suggests something like YYYYmmdd, but I can't seem to get that or any other format I can think of to work in practice. > Discarded emails don't show up in search results. It's very wierd to click on a grey day number in the calendar and then see a completely empty listing of messages for that day because all messages from that day were discarded. > You can still access them directly by looking up their sender. That was going to be the answer that I was going to send, but some experimentation showed that it doesn't work that way if you're using the search field. The only way I could find to "search" for deleted messages was to use the http://<zoehost>:10080/address/<tld>/<domain>/<user> URI. Once you've found the message, you can 'RECOVER' it so that it can be found by other means. If you use the search field, then it won't be found whether you type in the user's email address directly or try the sender:[email protected]. Strangely enough, if you use an email client to do a "get" from Zoe, then the discarded emails are fetched along with all of the rest of them. Of course, Zoe's strange interpretation of delete and discard have been discussed before and never really resolved. One question that all of this brings up is the differences between rebuild, clean, optimize and purge. I am guessing that purge will remove all discarded messages and index references to them. Will clean and/or optimize also do this? Will rebuild remove them or put them back? >> BTW. I started a search page on the wiki >> (http://zoe.omara.ca/index.php?page=Searching). Please add to it...
