Features

Hello,

I am quite new in the list, I have just read about Zoe, but I liked this
googling idea.

I am now using mutt and mairix, and I also do not categorize my emails, so
my mail-handling philosophy is similar to the Zoe philosophy. I like this,
but there are problems with my system: it is too complicated and I do not
have enough control over it, for example I cannot control easily how the
indexing is done, because mairix is written in C, and I like Java more than
mairix.

I also use a software, called ASK (Active Spam Killer), which is
a spam-filter, which requires confirmation to each person who send email to
me. It is the best way I have found to avoid spam (automatic spam-filters
lets in 4-5 spams a day from the daily 400, which is not good for me).

I imagine my ideal emailing environment with thw following features:
- TMDA-like features (ASK is not perfect) with easily configurable
  interface
- Incoming message filters and sorters (mailing lists goes to different
  folders)
- IMAP interface (!)
- Auto-indexing emails only in specific IMAP folders
- Pluggable indexers
- Possible follow-up for each email (date)
- Possibility of multi-user setup

Some features must be implemented in email-client side, but the server-side
things (TMDA, mail-filtering) would be good if can be handled by only one
software. 

Is it possible that Zoe can implement some of the features here?

I am thinking about implementing these features, but I don't really know if
I can use Zoe as a base or I can start a new project based on the available
java components.

What do you think about it?
