Yes. Those instructions are slightly misleading as they refer to
upgrading from 0.45 to a version which was not backward compatible with
it.

For regular upgrade (i.e. between backward compatible release, e.g.
most of them), you simply need to copy the new binaries over your old
installation. That's all.

Specifically, all your data are located under '<ZOE>/Library/SZ/'. This
is where all your messages, indices and preferences are stored. And
this is the only directory you need to conserve during updates.

You can do this in two ways: copy the new binary distribution over your
existing installation, or move your 'SZ' directory to the new binary
location. Always have a backup handy though :)

Yes, this should be enough as long as you keep all the content of the
'SZ' directory.

Hmmm... not quite sure what this does for you... do you want to run
multiple instances concurrently?

Hmmm... ZOE itself doesn't provide a built-in IMAP server, only a POP3
server.

Are you trying to migrate your data from one instance to another by
using the built-in POP3 server? While this is a good way to move things
around when necessary, this is slightly overkill in most situation. As
far as upgrading goes, you can simply copy the new binary distribution
over your existing installation.

Hmmm... by default the app always leaves all the messages on the
server. If this is what you want, make sure that 'Leave messages on
server' is enabled under your account preferences.

Cheers,

R.
