already.  I already lost the file in which my mailer stores this twice,
and since the last time I always keep a backup of it.

Download all the mails and delete the duplicate to have you mailer re-create the file :-/

This would indeed be very nice.  Maybe one could have some addition to
the username, sth. like <mailer-name>@<actual-username> or whatever (so
that one can choose <mailer-name> freely and only <actual-username>
matters for authentication), to have a seperate store for seperate
mailers or seperate installations.
