amen. on the message board, you have to page to each thread separately, and
it's easy to miss late posts to older threads.
also, i think there was more discussion of non-4ad music and art on the
mailing list in the old days (though it's not totally absent from the message
board). and though some of the digressions into politics or art theory could
get a bit tiresome, overall it was kind of fun.
like patrick, i haven't focussed much on 4ad since the activity on this list
died down. alas. i've been listening to a lot more drone/space/psych the
past few years -- there's a great discussion list for that sort of thing
called "droneon". it just moved to a new server: info at <A HREF="http://lists.quartzcity.net/mailman/listinfo/droneon">

mentioned there, but the participants in the list include some who are very
well-versed in the genre and are happy to share their enthusiasms, and i've
learned about a lot of interesting music through that list.
