Well, in theory, only if they did so out of pressure from the government, which
is only speculation.

More concerning is whether NPR has a left leaning agenda, and if so, why they
qualify for funding in the first place.

If a govt. funded organization firing someone for something they said isn't a
form of censorship then nothing is.

Not in a personal sense, you're right.

I'd say it's more an issue of balance. Don't know if there's any sort
of requirement on NPR's part to continue to get federal funding.
