Well first, we are not a democratic republic, we are a representative Republic.
Yes, a minor nit, but it actually means something when you consider that we as
people do not vote on national legislation, and any remedy to our legislatures
who do something we disapprove of is often years away from the legislation.
This is a fact that they count on, that we often have short memories.

Second, this begins with the premise that we have to assume that universal
health care has anything to do with Christians values in the first place.
Universal health care has NOTHING to do with ending suffering.  That whole
argument is a faulty premise.

This is a case where he has defined it in such a way as to strong arm Christians
into retroactive guilt for not supporting it..
