Unfortunately some entitlements are more important than others.  Like
banker bailouts, purchasing mortgage backed securities and propping up the
US treasury bond market and the stock markets.  Banker bonuses are just a
more important entitlement it seems.  And that is a bipartisan judgement
that has been made.

But hey...let's keep voting these same bozos in, maybe one day they'll get
it right.

Paul, I agree with you that tending to people's health needs is a
"Christian" value.  I'm just not convinced that the government can do that
to any degree of usefulness (other than to enrich certain "entitled"
ruling classes).  And to the degree that large insurance companies and
their wall street backers are running the government show, I don't see how
a government solution is going to help anyone except them.

In short, I don't think we can provide any kind of christian "good
samaritan" healthcare on any large scale, until we get the pirates out of
the healthcare business.  And we can't get it done through government
until we get the pirates out of the government.  So far, nobody has shown
any willingness to do that.
