I was caught by the arrogance of how he now cannot trust the friends judgments. Apparently his is the only trustworthy judgment? That they might have had the audacity to not just like a horrible movie, but to recommend it? Did he ever pause to find out why they liked it? What they liked? Maybe understand where they are diverging? As I said previously, this guy really rubs me the wrong way. But when you take that from a personal level and apply it as a rule? When suddenly the movie is bad for "spiritual health", you are making a judgement you are probably not qualified to make about someone's soul. Automatically, there is a presumption that anyone who doesn't agree with your take of the movie is on the defensive-not because they have to defend why they think the movie is good-but why they are not bad or sick people for liking it.
