I mean there appears to be *no* cost/benefit analysis. So we have
*very* expensive procedures being done that have mixed benefit but
which raise all prices for the rest of us.

No one wants to play "lifeboat" and say that it's not worth doing
such-and-so for a person with only a couple months to live, but we
make value judgments by default when doing everything for everyone
raises prices and makes stuff like neonatal care too expensive for
some families.
