This is a position I can at least respect. While I'm inclined to a
more "can do" attitude and would rather see us working together to
find a solution that *does* work, at least you're willing to
acknowledge that it's a Christian value, and perhaps, by extension,
that makes it at least partially a moral issue? (Or do I press too
far?)

I can respect this far more than I can the, "Well, no, Christ didn't
mean to imply we should tend to the sick and poor if it inconveniences
us, or makes things complicated, or smacks of *gasp!* socialism"
ojbection.
