This touches on something else. Earlier in that thread, I said I was actually moved to tears, briefly, at one point in K-A. Whatever I might think of the film in a more "objective" sense, it got to me on a certain level, no doubt because I've got a daughter of my own and I could somehow relate to the father-daughter relationship in the movie. But the ex-friend in question here doesn't take that into account, of course -- yet he would not take it very well at *all* if anyone dared to criticize any film that made *him* cry (and there have been a few, let me tell you).
