Roads, education, military, social programs, judges and courtrooms, police officers, etc. It is all moving money from someone who previously had it to someone who didn't, with secondary effects of allowing or prohibiting commerce that wouldn't or would have previously been possible. In as much as it's innately evil, it would seem to be a necessary evil and a lesser one to most of the other evil in the world. So I'd rather consider the particulars of what wealth is moved to whom and how before I judge a particular taxation to be more or less evil than a world without said taxation.
