And if this were still a regular TV series, I would completely agree with 
you.  But at this point, bringing Firefly back would be an act of 
nostalgia, and if it was brought back in any way that respected the plot 
developments of the previous reunion, the nostalgia would be incomplete.

Star Trek never killed off any of its regular crew members (not on the 
original show, at least), so the movies got to be exercises in nostalgia 
that included *all* of the crew members ... although they did kill Spock 
in the second film, but then again, look how permanent *that* was.
