I will say if there is ever a vote on ballot to turn Smith County and/or Tyler, 
TX from a dry to a wet county I will do whatevet it takes to cast my vote.  I'm 
an Adam Smith voter - when it is in my rational self-interest I will vote.

I vote because I have this Pollyannish view that it actually matters.   Actually 
here in the last few years the races have been close enough it kind of does…
 

But at the least, I can take a principled stand after and know I tried.
 
My state has a lot of really critical (to me) initiatives so I made sure I 
voted.  I hate, however, the mail in only elections that we have moved to here.

I vote because it is the right thing for me as a citizen to do. What the 
government does (or doesn't do) beyond that is their responsibility. I have
