Perceive it how you will, but hating a behavior is not tantamount to hating a person. I'm pretty sure the Bible indicates that God hates our behavior, but loves us. I learned long ago in a parenting class that it's better to tell your child to stop "acting like a brat" or "acting selfish" than to stop "being a brat" or "being selfish." In one instance you're referring to their behavior, and in the other you are referring to them. It's easier for a kid to comprehend that they can stop what they're *doing* than to stop being what they *are.* Anyway, I know you're a fine person and you have many qualities that I admire.
