I got that...it's just that in the scenario I am addressing would have you still with a few hundred thousand at a minimum. Hey, there is all sorts of stuff I would do if I made more money as well... reducing my taxes isn't likely to make enough of a change to my take home to start doing all those things. On the other hand, if I had a few hundred thousand after taxes? I'd be going foreward-tax cuts or not.
