I think it's presumptuous to say that your intentions ought to trump your
actions, when it is the actions that people are responding to regardless
of whatever the original intentions might have been.

**Where did I say that?  I am fine with taking responsibility for my actions.
If I insult someone deliberately I own it.   I will even take responsibility
when I accidentally insult people in some cases, as when I say something to them
that I did not intend to be insulting but was.

**But I am tired of measuring my words to make sure I don’t offend a bystander
who might accidentally hear me.  We are soft and weak, with no spine or skin.
