You know, I understand the irritation over all this, I really do, but I think it's important to measure our sense of indignance. Nobody's barging into our homes and demanding stripteases from our children. Nobody's forcing any of us to fly anywhere. We have no inherent rights regarding our ability to board an airplane, uh, unmolested (ahem). My girlfriend's 83 year old grandparents drove roundtrip from Florida to Nebraska three times this year because they refuse to put up with the hassle at airports. It's enough of an issue for them that they'd rather spend 22 hours in the car, and so they do. My point is, it's one more indignity to endure at the airport, but it's hardly the end of western culture.
