Wonder what is happening with the "Internet 2" that has been talked about.  
Higher compression, faster speeds, etc. ?  


And this has to scare the bejesus out of hollywood and cable television - people 
only have so many dollars to spend, (unless you have an in with the Fed), and 
raising rates for Netflix like services will put the squeeze on theater dollars 
and pay tv.

Yeah...Cable companies have planned this for awhile...but the model is basically 
the same as most any mobile phone deal.

I think that's how it's supposed to work in Canada, too, though no one has ever 
billed me extra. I know that's definitely how it works on my phone, where my 
plan covers the first 500MB but I've never gone over.
