Wait, construction plans are a civil liberty? Really? Yes, I agree, keeping the plans hidden is stupid, but calling that a civil liberty issue just seems like we are cheapening the concept more than it already is. You say “doing crap like this”, but I am failing to see a victim here. This is not thuggary, this is stupid bureaucracy. No...there is a reason why these plans are kept secret. Perhaps the unique design violates a building codes, or maybe causes dangerous run-off into neighbors yards killing their grass and gardens, or there were kickbacks to the architect/builder. It isn't hard to imagine a dozen nefarious reasons. **your definition of nefarious and mine are a slightly off, but ok. And in this case, the issue is now in litigation. Problem solved. So I say to the government what they say to me. If you've done nothing wrong, you've got nothing to hide and nothing to worry about. ***and since I am not defending the government, bully for you.
