Sorry, dude, but if your president is going to be head of state and not 
just the government leader, then he's gotta accept the ceremonial duties 
of the post and accept the fact that there's an etiquette to what he does.

Like I say, we Canadians have the advantage of having the Queen as our 
head of state, which leaves the governing to our prime minister.  Though 
even *he* has certain etiquettes that have to be followed, I guess.
