I agree that Assange's rock star behaviour is, at the very least, in poor
taste. Nonetheless it is not Assange who is responsible for Manning being in
prison; that distinction belongs to Adrian Lamo and Manning himself. As far
as I can tell, none of WikiLeaks hundreds of other leakers have been found
out and WikiLeaks has done fundraising for Manning's defense.
