I was blessed to have my daughter's suitor be an Eagle Scout and all-around
good kid. He brought me pizza when they first started to date. He worked at
a Shakey's and he'd bring pizza over to the house when he came to call on
Ashlei. And years later, when they started talking marriage, he came to me
on an Saturday afternoon he knew I'd be home by myself and asked for
Ashlei's hand in marriage.

Also, his best friend is now a cop. While I don't have any guns around the
house myself, I know a local cop I can call who is licensed to carry big
guns, and how seems to think the world of us as Ashlei's parents. That's a
nice ace-in-the-hole to have. ;)
