I never paid much attention to the 'tar and feather' thing until I saw it
done as part of the John Adams miniseries starring Paul Giamatti. Very
unpleasant.

We've come a long way since then. Now, our collective social hostility is
vented on the internet, which never forgets. Ever.  ; )
