Heh. Reflecting on it, I tried to decide that it wasn't *that*
coincidental. Obviously Motley Crue and Poison were planning some kind
of dual revival tour, and the filmmakers integrated them into the film
as part of the marketing package. OR the bands decided to embark on a
tour after they were featured in the film. Either way, it would take
them a year or so to make their way up and down the coasts before
finding their way to Omaha. But still. The fact that I got the email
immediately after watching the movie -- too, too weird.

I still haven't seen "War, Inc.," but I tend to cut Cusack a lot of
slack just because I just dig his onscreen persona. (Odd, because he
tends to come off like a bit of a blowhard dickhead in real life.)

He's made his share of crappy movies, but Cusack pretty much earned a
lifetime pass from me for "Say Anything" in the 80's, "Gross Pointe
Blank" in the 90's, and "High Fidelity in the 00's. I think one
masterpiece per decade is a good track record. :)

I was listening to an old episode of Loveline the other, and James
Mangold was the guest. It was around the time that "Identity" was
released, and he mentioned that Cusack has a longstanding policy
regarding big, dumb studio pictures that goes: "Three for me, one for
them." I think it's served him well.
