The answer is to tighten the flow of capital from going overseas in
the form of wages. Bernanke wants inflation and growth, but he isn't
going to get it unless wages go up. He can devalue the dollar and
push up costs, but without wage growth, people won't be able to afford
it and there won't be any growth. And there won't be wage growth
when your "free trade" policies encourage outsourcing the labor by
which growth is accomplished. We need to build things, mine things,
manufacture things and grow things...HERE...in the US. That is
growth, not outsourcing all of that so that a few fat cats can collect
their checks but leave the rest of the country high and dry.

There is a great global imbalance and we need either direct tariffs or
restrictions on outsourcing to try and bring a little more balance, or
at the very least slow the scales from swinging so wildly and making
it more gradual. Not punitive tariffs, or drastic protectionism, but
competitive policies. Free trade is not working for the middle class,
only for the employer (i.e. wall street). Limiting the amount of
green carded workers and offshore jobs would be a very politically
popular thing to advocate, yet no-one...and I mean NO-ONE is
advocating it! I would prefer to see direct import taxes myself.
