Well, of course, you'd have to provide proof that he met with a band of 
Canadians on June 3, 2003, in order to make the assertion stick.  Without 
said evidence, none of us are under any obligation to believe it.

In point of fact, there was a point during the campaign when someone 
claimed to have personally witnessed Obama sitting and nodding along 
during one of Jeremiah Wright's more incendiary sermons, and within days 
(if not hours) the Obama campaign gave evidence of Obama's actual 
whereabouts that day, which disproved the assertion.
