Fair enough.  But I think that trying to see both sides of the argument 
concerning Israel is a form of moral relativism.  Israel is not perfect and 
should be judged by it's own standards a free and democratic state.  But to 
start out by placing Israel and the Palestinians on the same level leads to 
inevitably and inherently flawed results.  Until the Palestinians renounce 
terrorism, such as bombings and random rocket launches into civilian territory, 
they don't deserve to be afforded the respect of a nation state.  I think an 
argument can be made that they aren't a nation state even after that but absent 
such a renouncing nation state status for the Palestinians is a non-starter.  


I must say I prefer political arguments on this mailing list than on facebook.  
I guess I feel I know you guys well enough to throw down, rhetorically speaking, 
once and awhile.  For me, I try to stay pretty apolitical on facebook since I 
don't know the majority of my "friends" on there in the same way I feel like I 
know everyone here.

That would imply there was an argument.  Again, because you and Karl seemed to 
have missed this, the accusation wasn't made based on my comment of the Bush and 
Obama approach being essentially the same.  I asked for clarification of what 
was so terrible in the speech.  I got no answer the first time.  I asked a 
second time.  I was answered with "Why do you support the genocide of the 
Jews?"  And when I bowed out based on cheap shots and insults?  The answer was 
not an explanation or clarification or an attempt at peace it is "good, you are 
stupid."  And later calling me an idiot.  Hey, unlike Israel or Palestinian 
die-hards, I am trying to take the information in and understand he whole 
picture...not just one side of it.
