You know, I am willing after further reading to concede Bush didn't say go back to the 1967 borders. But technically, neither did Obama. I know Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu read it that way. But he clearly did not pay close attentiontion. The suggestion was to start from the 1967 borders and work from there. But not to just stick with them. It also included a dimilitarized Palestine. Maybe folks are missing those various stern words for the Palestinians. But yesterday was far more balanced than people give it credit for being.
The response yesterday and today just seems like many people didn't hear the actual speech...but some cartoonish version that gave Palestine a big hug and told Israel, "Suck it up, bitch."
