I'd say the same thing about Deri Daughtery and much of TST's music.  I'd put 
Mallonee's musicianship up against either of them.  


No accounting for taste though.

Well, I first heard a Mallonnee/VOL song on that Roaring Lambs compilation CD, 
and then I saw him play some songs at Cornerstone 2000, and... I didn't see what 
the big deal was.  Earnest and monotonous were the first two descriptors that 
came to mind, really (and by "monotonous", I literally mean that his music had a 
"monotone" quality, at least to me).
