I am looking at it objectively trying ot isolate the failures that led to
this. And it is possible the homeowner contributed to those failures.

That is all.

You're looking at it from a POV sympathetic to the SWAT guys. I'm looking at
it from a POV sympathetic to the homeowner. How many guns were pointed at
him first?

There are rules of engagement that these guys are expected to follow. As far
as I know, simply having a weapon pointed at you isn't cause to shoot 71
times. Those guys are trained to be overcareful when it comes to deadly
force (or at least they used to be).
