>I am pointing out how much is assumptive and knee jerk here when the actual facts show pretty much nothing. < I thinkt the above shows up as the quintessential example "logic and reason get<ting> hammered by emotion" There is a myriad of facts in this matter. There is more than enough to make reasonable inferences based on circumstantial evidence. Those facts and that evidence point in the direction that a man was murdered by police in his own home, (I don't have to define murder do I? I'm using the term in a broad legal sense and not specifying a degree). I'm not suggesting it is proof beyond a reasonable doubt, but it certainly raised a prima facia case and I'd say that at least the preponderance of evidence we do have points in that direction. I'd also note that the people in control of the evidence are hiding/withholding it. In court I would get an instruction from the judge to the jury that they could assume that the evidence being withheld/missing was against the party withholding/hiding it. So please stop with the head in the sand approach that we don't have facts and that you are the only one seeing/looking rationally at this. Mike F. The one fact is that a guy is dead, 71 shots fired with 60 striking him. No evidence of All we are doing is using this to nurse our pet peeves and that's fine, but quit pretending we are discussing the case anymore. I don't have a problem pointing out when logic and reason get hammered by emotion. This was an isolated event that needs to be fully investigated and the parties responsible for it held accountable. I have never said otherwise. My initial point was that using this to justify ending the drug war is pointless. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Johne Cook Sent: Friday, May 27, 2011 2:24 PM To: DADL (off topic) Subject: Re: [DADL-OT] Marine killed in his own home I established my bona fides in the tangent. No need to revisit them again just because you aren't accepting them. Karl, reading your posts in this thread is aggravating. Usually, people come at something from a clear perspective. You're arguing both sides of the thread and embellishing your own tangential points. It's almost as if you enjoy arguing for the sake of arguing. There's no joy down that road.
