Well, I guess it's certainly possible that it happens here, too, but...

Actually, one thing we have quite a few of here is "walk-in clinics".  I 
actually don't have a regular doctor of my own (though my wife and kids 
do), and when I had my week of hell a few weeks ago, I went to the nearby 
walk-in clinic.  My condition didn't warrant "emergency" treatment, so I 
didn't go to the hospital, but I did go somewhere else.
