Anectdotally speaking, I have never met the person who goes to the emergency room for a headcold. Every person I know won't go in to see a doctor until the last absolute second-or die...whether it's government or themselves paying for it makes no difference in anyone I know in real life. I heck, I didn't go to see a doctor for over a month after having 300 lbs land on my foot and could barely walk-and it would have been a toally free checkup... so, free of charge and not on my healthplan? Did not change my willingness to go see a doctor...and that has been the example I have seen from friends and family-including those getting free government medical coverage.
