After my last band practice, as I was starting to put my amp away. I noticed a big rattle going on inside the amp, so I took it in to my amp repair shop. After he opened it up, he found a bunch of problems.
A bad design flaw on how the board is mounted to the cab that broke. The amp was bought brand new at GC & apparently it was dropped either by them , their shipper, or the manufacture. Either way it can be fixed. I took it to my amp tech instead of an Ampeg repair shop, because I knew my guy would correct the problem that Ampeg created with their bad design problem, so as it would never happen again. Apparently since LOUD took over Ampeg the QC has gone down quit a bit. My Ampeg BA500 has not given me any problems, then again it's made in the USA & I got it before LOUD bought out Ampeg. If these amps ever take a crap, my next amps will be either Mesa Boogies or Mark Amps.
