Re:50 Watt Bass Amps..just some thoughts.

I agree with the two Marks. I fill you need two hundred watts also. I did see a guy once playing outside with a full band & all he had was a little twenty watt Peavey combo, but he DI it some how straight into the little cab, with a cable coming out of it, going right into the PA. My own experience, playing live with a 100 watt amp, was that I had too max everything out just to be heard over a loud drummer, a Marshall & a Fender Vibralux. That was with a Fender 100 watt Bassman. The GK Back-line 100 watt combo wouldn't even go to the half way mark with out breaking up  & distorting really bad. I got rid of the GK &  the Fender amps. I decided then, that I needed at lest 200 watts & I've never had that problem again. Then again, this is just IMO
