As you are a "real" bass player I don't think the Dean would suit you. It h= as a=20 34" scale just like a Fender J.=20 I'd say hit eBay and see what is out there and then go to the Mfg website. = And=20 while you are at it consider a 5 stringer. We aint getting any faster with = age=20 and it's a hell of a lot easier to just move to the "B" sting then it is to= move=20 our slow old hands down a 4th on the "E" string.=20 What model is the KAy? If you want to sell it I would be interested. (I sol= d=20 mine like 20 years ago and have been in the "Electric BAss" business ever s= ince.=20 I kinda would like to get back into the "real" bass world again.=20 Steve AKA 'da ol' SmokeDog in Cleveland=C2=A0 ________________________________ From: pbassnote <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Wed, February 23, 2011 4:00:14 PM Subject: [Bass Place] seeking info regarding EUBs =C2=A0=20 I'm considering buying an Electric Upright Bass (EUB), and am absolutely=20 clueless about these contraptions. Amongst my small collection of bass guit= ars=20 (two), I also own an older laminated blond Kay bass. Last week, while I was= =20 tuning it up just before a gig, my low E-string broke. That's never happene= d on=20 that instrument in the 20-some years I've owned it. Lucky for me, I had an = older=20 gut string to replace it, but unlucky for me, after the gig, when I took it= to a=20 local string shop, the repairman pointed out a few problems with the instru= ment=20 that altogether adds up to about $1000.00 . So, this has me contemplating=20 replacing the Kay with an EUB. I've done a little online research and came= =20 across a few that seem interesting:=20 Stagg (a couple different models) NS Design (also a couple different models) Cecilio CEDB-1DW Palatino VE-500 Dean Pace=20 Any thoughts/opinions on any of these? =20=20=20=20=20=20 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
