Re: seeking info regarding EUBs

Rather than getting a (solid body ?) upright not look for a used plywood upright?  Add Fishman pickup and a Fishman pre-amp to handle feedback and you're set.  That's what I did and never regretted the decision.  with a solid upright, you lose the "woodiness" that makes an upright so worth having.

As an alternative, have a look at Rob Allen electrics.  I have a five-string fretless EB-1 with tape-wrapped strings, all of seven pounds and sounds as close to an upright as possible.  In fact it is so close to a piezo-equipped upright it should be illegal.
