How hard is it to service your own Bass? (fret stoning)

Anyone on here ever stoned their own frets? (not a euphemism)
I've got a 6-string Toby Pro and I like to keep the action fairly low (it's not for slapping) but the 15th fret's definitely proud.
I'm a fairly hands-on guy (I've changed engines) so I can't see it can be that difficult, usual story - right tools, right attitude, plenty of time to keep quality high.
Anyone on here done it themselves? If only so you can keep an eye on your precious :-)
Ta for any noises
