Everybody tha= t ever payed it says it has the VERY best neck they ever had in theitr hand= s.=20 =C2=A0 I also have Samick =C2=A0Artist ser (not to be confused with the newer Sami= ck Artists as it cost 3 grand USD=C2=A0back in '98) 6- string. neck thru, a= ctive.(Glad there are those=C2=A0who listen with their eyes instead of ears= =C2=A0as I got a=C2=A0REAL DEAL on it) =C2=A0 It also playes extreamly well although=C2=A0I did have to work the nut and = shave the frets but other then the width=C2=A0of the neck it has a fender n= eck profile and plays better then any other 6 string I ever tried.=20 =C2=A0 I will say after playing the 6-er thoughn the J feels like a ukelelie and t= he 6 feels like a surfboard after playing the J. =C2=A0=C2=A0 The worst "real" bass I ever played is my '63 Gibson EB3. It's got a neck l= ike a telephone pole but with the select tone in "1" it is the deepest soun= ding bass I have ever heard. Just it makes=C2=A0my old Kay upright feel lik= e it has a small neck! =C2=A0 As f ro amps, You guys know me. anything less then 2- 15s with over 100db e= fficency is high pitch twang to me, but that is just a sigh of "my age"=C2= =A0My Dual showman is even less then I like and=C2=A0dosn't run with=C2=A0t= he Kustom K200-B1 with the 2- JBL 15 cabinet, (Used to like=C2=A0one or=C2= =A0even=C2=A0two=C2=A03-15 cabs in my "loud" days) although I would like to= get a hold of a Sunn 200S=C2=A0with a 2-15 Folded Horn or scoop cabinet ju= st for compairison.=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0 Later,=20 =C2=A0 Smoke =C2=A0 Anything over 5000 Hz is for the Guitarist :))) From: jollyr465 <[email protected]> >To: [email protected] >Sent: Sunday, July 31, 2011 10:51 AM >Subject: [Bass Place] Which bass is your favorite bass to play & why? > > >=C2=A0=20 >This has been done before. But since nobody seems to ever post here too mu= ch these days, except for myself & Mark. So I'll throw this out there again= & see what happens! My personal favorite bass, in my stable of seven basse= s, is my 1995 G&L L2500. It gives me just about any tone that I want. It's = also pretty light for a five string also. I really love this bass & everyth= ing about it. Also while I'm at it, what bass rig or combo amp does everybo= dy prefer & why also? I have two rigs, an Ampeg USA BA500 combo with a Peav= ey 210 Black widow cab. Thats sounds just like an SVT, but it's also very h= eavy! The one I've been using for the last year is my SWR Headlite head tha= t weights in at 3.5 lbs & my two GK ultra lite 210 cabs, with each cab weig= hting in at 30 lbs each. At most gigs though, I only take my SWR head & one= GK cab. Which make it easy for me to unload, set up & then get out of ther= e easily after the gig is finished. For me these days weight is a very important thing, along with tone & versatility!=20 > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] =20=20=20=20 =20=20=20=20=20 =20=20=20=20 =20=20=20=20 =20 =20=20 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
