Re: Tremolos last longer?

>So if stressing reeds is caused by poor playing technique then diatonic. chromatic, tremolo doesn't necessarily last longer than one or the other.   Yet people quote a diatonic as lasting a year or at best 18 months, chromatic lasting years and a tremolo lasting 'longer than a diatonic'.

James, rather some interesting theory there.  I don't know that I can 
vouch for it -- I think there are more variables.  My Hohner Double Echo 
is on its last legs, and I used it for about a year and put it on a 
shelf.  My Brelli is more than 25 years old, plays wonderfully (I've had 
it for about five years), and it is still my favorite instrument to 
carry as in-pocket-C.  My Tombos and Suzukis are almost all more than a 
year old and going very strong.
