RE: Dave Hyne's Website and Henry Creaney's CD - Harmonica

Have you been to Dave Hynes Website yet? He sells Tombo and Suzuki Tremolo harmonicas as well as some CDs the latest of which is the excellent CD "Harmonica" by Henry Creaney, played on tremolo harmonica. The link for the site is:

Also, I am building a web site myself, link below, currently called "Scottish Harmonica". It is far from finished so I welcome any suggestions for improvement. I am thinking of broadening it to encompass all British folk harmonica.

There is an excellent video on the "Events" page of Donald Black, accompanied by Donnie MacKenzie, performing "Don Chuthaig" at the NHL (National Harmonica League) Festival in Bristol last October. He plays part of it with that "mandolin" effect he gets on the tremolo by using a sort of throat vibrato.

Hi Dave!

I'm waiting for my Echo tremolos to wear out so that I can buy some of those crackin' good Tombos from Dave. Good luck with the Scottish harmonica site - yours and mine should make a killer pair!   I was a bit desperate for some Scottish tunes for our Burns' Night gig a couple of weeks ago.   I usually use my Paddy Richter retuned blues harps for nearly everything but I resorted to the tremolo far more that night.  I was the Jimmy Shand of Bude for just that night!   Irish is really my thing but I have a good few Northumbrian tunes under my belt as well.  I'll definitely be looking out for more Scottish.
