  Subject: [big-harmonica] tombo

  hello everybody, its me again,
i was just wondering if anyone in this discussion has ever
found any advantage in having a tremolo harmonica in "richter" tuning?
we, here in ireland have always found it to be a
  hindrance to our playing.
"The richter tuning requires bending to get the missing note. However, bending is just a musical style that works well for blue. I also find it hindrance to play folk, country, hymn and classical. I personally like Tombo and suzuki on solo tuning; whereby, I can also do bending on single reed whenever I need to do so. "

my very good friends in ireland , who play the
harmonica have found that the tombo range is, without question the
very best. the "solo" tuning and quality of tombos is superb.
i have raised this question on other harmonica
related websites, and quite honestly i was baffled and amused by the
  replys from so-called "experts".

" Many expert has not really explored the advantages om tremolo"

brendan power, who is a brilliant harmonica player,
offers a service to to-retune any type of harmonica to play "solo"
for any type of music. i would love to hear your views on this.

" I love his performance/ CD, especially his diatonic harp."
                                                     david hynes.
