Re: Source of Tombo Tremolos

Here is the WEB site of SWAN harmonica in China. You will be able to find ALL  major and minor keys tremolo ,  chord and Bass harmonica.  A year ago, I  bought   a set of  12 major keys  of  approximately $100-US  per set. ( very inexpensive  ! )   The Bass harmonica was  about  $70-US  and the chord  was about $80-US.   Shipping and  handling are extra.  

The quality is certainly not as good as Tombo, but are comparable to Huang's.   Worth to explore the source.

    Hello!! Happy holidays and new year for all!!
    Getting a Tombo harmonica is a very, very dificult mission in America. In my country it is dificcult to get any harmonica (including diatonic, chromatic and tremolo). I went to various music stores, and incrediblely i couldn't find a harmonica CD!!!   
    A few minutes ago i received a call from Japan: a japanese teacher, my wife's friend...She is coming to my city next january, and my wife ask her to buy for me a Tombo Deluxe Band 1521 C flat (i have one in C). Surprise!!! Its price is 90 dollars! i had told her it was about 60 $!!!
    I looked at tombo web site, but it says nothing about price...

  Their web site says very little about Tombo, but I have bought both 1521s and 3121s from them via telephone-order, and they have been extremely reliable.  3121s are available in all keys now, by the way, which is not a very well-known fact.


    A guestion: wich is better, tombo 3121 or tombo 1521? Why?
  1521 is higher quality.  3121 is about 1/3 the price.  3121 is actually a more common tremolo timbre right out of the box, because the tremolo off-tuning is more typical.  1521 off-tuning is much closer, in other words, less tremolo effect.

    Another one: Do you bend notes on tremolo harmonica?
  I don't -- I have not been motivated to learn, because tremolos are too expensive to be breaking reeds :)

    Last one: Do you use any tablature for your tremolo harmonica music? Or only standard music notation?
  I use standard or none, usually none.
